Technical Information
To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'ctfmonn' = '<SYSTEM32>\samserv.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'ctfmonn' = '<SYSTEM32>\samserv.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\samserv.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
- file extensions
Creates and executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\samserv.exe'
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\net1.exe' start sharedaccess
- '<SYSTEM32>\alg.exe'
- '<SYSTEM32>\cmd.exe' /c ""C:\system.bat" "
- '<SYSTEM32>\net.exe' stop sharedaccess
- '<SYSTEM32>\net1.exe' stop sharedaccess
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\system.bat
- <SYSTEM32>\samserv.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\samserv.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\samserv.exe
Deletes itself.

Connects to:
- 'my####.newscm.net':5858
UDP:
- DNS ASK my####.newscm.net
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Shell_TrayWnd' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: ''
