A malicious application for Android spreading in the guise of an update installer for popular applications, such as Adobe Flash Player
When launched, Android.SmsSend.471.origin notifies the user that updating has been cancelled because the current OS version is not supported. After that the malware removes its icon from the home screen to hide its presence in the system, contacts a remote server and awaits commands from intruders.
Upon a command from the server, the program can perform the following actions:
- Change the control server address.
- Apply filters to intercept and remove inbound SMS.
- Send an SMS to a specified number with a specified text.
- Run an HTTP query.
- Use a specified link to download an application and install it.
- Remove a specified application.
- Display a message.
- Open a specified URL in the browser.
- Send all the contact information found in the phone book to the remote server.
- Send a list of installed applications to the server.
- Call a specified number.
