To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run] 'MicrosoftCorp' = '%HOMEPATH%\dllCache.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'MicrosoftNAPC' = '%HOMEPATH%\dllCache.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\buffer\temp\trayicon.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\buffer\temp\Desktop.ini
Malicious functions:
Creates and executes the following:
- '%HOMEPATH%\dllCache.exe'
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\dllCache.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\buffer\temp\trayicon.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\dllCache.exe
Network activity:
Connects to:
- 'xo##.cdmon.org':6667
UDP:
- DNS ASK xo##.cdmon.org
