To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] '360Safebox' = '<SYSTEM32>\expleror.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] '360Safetray' = '<SYSTEM32>\SVCH0ST.exe'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'qq???' = '<SYSTEM32>\expleror.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'qq??' = '<SYSTEM32>\SVCH0ST.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\QQ.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Malicious functions:
Executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\logonui.exe /status
Searches for windows to
detect programs and games:
- ClassName: 'TXGuiFoundation' WindowName: 'QQ2009 ???'
- ClassName: 'TXGuiFoundation' WindowName: 'QQ2009'
Attempts to shut down the Windows operating system.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\xhqqdao.sys
- C:\autorun.inf
- C:\QQ.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\expleror.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\SVCH0ST.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- C:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\QQ.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\expleror.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\SVCH0ST.exe
- C:\QQ.exe
Moves the following files:
- from C:\autorun.inf to C:\autoron.inf
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Shell_TrayWnd' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: 'StatusWindowClass' WindowName: ''
