Technical Information
To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Explorer' = '%WINDIR%\Regedot.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'Firewall' = '%WINDIR%\Regedot.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\setup.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Mis Imagenes.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Nueva Carpeta (2).exe
Malicious functions:
To bypass firewall, removes or modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List] '%WINDIR%\Regedot.exe' = '%WINDIR%\Regedot.exe:*:Enabled:Messenger'
Creates and executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\downloaded2.exe (downloaded from the Internet)
- %WINDIR%\downloaded1.exe (downloaded from the Internet)
- %WINDIR%\Regedot.exe
Executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\netsh.exe firewall add allowedprogram "%WINDIR%\Regedot.exe" Messenger ENABLE ALL
- %WINDIR%\explorer.exe
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\Nueva Carpeta (2).exe
- C:\Mis Imagenes.exe
- C:\autorun.inf
- C:\setup.exe
- %WINDIR%\downloaded2.exe
- %WINDIR%\Regedot.exe
- %TEMP%\downmelt.exe
- %WINDIR%\downloaded1.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\69I9OPW5\regedit32a[1].exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\setup.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- C:\setup.exe
- C:\autorun.inf
Deletes itself.
