Virus library

An analysis of the technologies used by cybercriminals allows us to draw conclusions about the virus industry’s possible vectors of development and more effectively confront future threats. You, too, can learn what actions various malicious programs take in infected systems and how to withstand them.

Android.DreamExploid in virus library:

Android.DreamExploid is a family of malicious programs targeting Android devices. The malware can be distributed via legitimate applications modified by cybercriminals.

Once an infected program is installed and launched, a Trojan of the Android.DreamExploid family attempts to acquire elevated privileges by employing root exploits stored in its body. If successful, the Trojan installs another malicious application that is also stored in the APK file. This second application is detected by Dr.Web as a modification of Android.DreamExploid. It can download and install other programs and gather various information about the infected device (for example, IMEI, phone number, SDK version) sending it to cybercriminals.

Vulnerabilities for Android

According to statistics, every fifth program for Android contains a vulnerability (or, in other words, a "loophole") that lets cybercriminals successfully introduce Trojans onto mobile devices and manipulate them into doing whatever actions they need them to.

Dr.Web Security Auditor for Android diagnoses and analyses a mobile device’s security and offers solutions to address security problems and vulnerabilities.
