To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'windows' = '%WINDIR%\mkstemp.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Malicious functions:
Executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\attrib.exe +s +h autorun.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" /v windows /t REG_SZ /d %WINDIR%\mkstemp.exe /f
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %TEMP%\~1.bat
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- %TEMP%\~1.bat
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: ''
