Technical Information
To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'maufe' = '%HOMEPATH%\maufe.exe /r'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'maufe' = '%HOMEPATH%\maufe.exe /m'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Sexy.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Porn.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Passwords.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\maufe.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Secret.exe
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
Creates and executes the following:
- '%HOMEPATH%\maufe.exe'
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Passwords.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\RCX3.tmp
- %HOMEPATH%\RCX4.tmp
- %HOMEPATH%\RCX6.tmp
- %HOMEPATH%\RCX5.tmp
- %HOMEPATH%\RCX2.tmp
- %HOMEPATH%\Secret.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\maufe.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Sexy.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Porn.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\RCX1.tmp
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\maufe.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- %HOMEPATH%\maufe.exe
Deletes the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Secret.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Passwords.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Sexy.exe
- %HOMEPATH%\Porn.exe
Moves the following files:
- from %HOMEPATH%\RCX4.tmp to %HOMEPATH%\Sexy.exe
- from %HOMEPATH%\RCX5.tmp to %HOMEPATH%\Porn.exe
- from %HOMEPATH%\RCX6.tmp to %HOMEPATH%\Porn.exe
- from %HOMEPATH%\RCX1.tmp to %HOMEPATH%\Sexy.exe
- from %HOMEPATH%\RCX2.tmp to %HOMEPATH%\Porn.exe
- from %HOMEPATH%\RCX3.tmp to %HOMEPATH%\Porn.exe
