A Trojan for Android included in SDK 呀呀云 (Ya Ya Yun). It is used in software development. This SDK provides users with an opportunity to exchange text, voice and video messages. The main purpose of Android.RemoteCode.127.origin is a covert download and launch of additional malicious modules.

Launch of Android.RemoteCode.127.origin depends on the method used by a developer to initialize SDK in their application. Usually it happens when the program is launched either in the Application class, or in any of its Activities. Once launched, the Trojan sends a request to the C&C server https://hs.***bao.com/get (in some modifications it is http://hs.***vv.info:9800/get) which looks the following way:

{
"operatorType":"",
"model":"Philips_S307",
"osVersion":"4.4.2",
"appId":"1001305",
"vendor":"Philips",
"imei":"********0006551",
"androidId":"********743b4627",
"connectionType":"WIFI",
"mac":"**:**:**:81:77:dc",
"requestType":"jar",
"osType":1,
"ip":"***.***.137.136",
"sdkVersion":"1.0.3",
"appVersion":"1.8",
"longitude":"",
"latitude":"",
"imsi":"",
"uuid":"************4807a86dac9556ff07de",
"idfa":""
}

In addition, if an application with the Trojan SDK has privileges to determine coordinates, the request gets an indication of the last known location of the infected device.

In return, the server can send to the malicious program a task which looks the following way:

{
"result":0,
"msg":null,
"tasks":[
 "tasks":[
{
"id":356,
"scriptType":null,
"type":0,
"binUrl":" " https://v.***aya.cn/core_xd_356 ,
"md5":"92801af38f6dfe38fbb8b63748006deb",
"className":"com.x.d.core.service",
"function":"main",
"functionParam":null,
"shell":"",
"pkage":"",
"exeDelay":0,
"scheduleTime":null,
"cancel":null,
"partnerId":null,
"countLimitType":2,
"binNumber":"leyou",
"taskType":1,
"activity":null,
"taskFlag":0,
"msgId":"********f6a7f20cbe2499cf"
}
]
}

It has a link to download one of the malicious modules, for example Android.RemoteCode.126.origin. After the download, the module is launched using the DexClassLoader class.

Curing recommendations

Android

  1. If the mobile device is operating normally, download and install Dr.Web for Android Light. Run a full system scan and follow recommendations to neutralize the detected threats.
  2. If the mobile device has been locked by Android.Locker ransomware (the message on the screen tells you that you have broken some law or demands a set ransom amount; or you will see some other announcement that prevents you from using the handheld normally), do the following:
    • Load your smartphone or tablet in the safe mode (depending on the operating system version and specifications of the particular mobile device involved, this procedure can be performed in various ways; seek clarification from the user guide that was shipped with the device, or contact its manufacturer);
    • Once you have activated safe mode, install the Dr.Web для Android Light onto the infected handheld and run a full scan of the system; follow the steps recommended for neutralizing the threats that have been detected;
    • Switch off your device and turn it on as normal.
